The word "Saplin", derived from the Charlie Chaplin character, has entered the Tahitian vernacular. Saplins are people who can't be taken seriously, who are carefree, dilettantes or even simple-minded... The word also refers to someone who is mocking or joking, in reference to Charlie Chaplin.

The "Saplins" influence Polynesian society, constantly renewing their style and the vocabulary of the local language. To such an extent that being a saplin has become a way of life and a way of thinking.

People who use these codes are said to be "ha saplin à eux", even though most of the time they don't even know they are saplins...

For this EP, we ha saplin à nous!

An ode to all the saplins that have influenced local Tahitian culture...
